A 15-year-old girl was arrested Thursday after attempting to stab a police officer at a Baton Rouge school, BRPD said.

Officers responded to a call about a disturbance shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Idea Bridge Academy at 1500 North Airway Drive, police said in a statement.

“While officers were attempting to deescalate the incident and detain some of aggressive students, a 15-year-old female student attempted to stab a uniformed officer with a knife,” police said.

The girl told police that she brought the knife to school to stab another student, officials said.

The juvenile was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center for aggravated assault on a police officer, carrying a dangerous weapon on school property and resisting an officer.
