2 brothers drown in neighborhood pond in Livingston Parish

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two boys drowned in a neighborhood pond Saturday.

Deputies were called to a home on Deer Lakes Trail around 12:30 p.m. about a possible drowning. According to the sheriff’s office, a 9-year-old and a 6-year-old were seen walking near a neighborhood pond.

The sheriff’s office said it’s unclear how or why the boys ended up in the water.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the drowning.
