2 killed in early-morning shooting on North 37th Street, Baton Rouge police say

Two people were killed in a shooting on North 37th Street early Tuesday morning, Baton Rouge police said. 

BRPD spokesman L’Jean McKneely said officers were called to the address in the 900 block of North 37th Street shortly after midnight. One of the victims died at the scene, while the other ran to a location on North 38th. The second victim was taken to a hospital but later succumbed to their injuries, McKneely said. 

The victims’ identities and other information was not immediately available. 

BRPD asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact the violent crime unit at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
