Art Crawl returns

The Zachary Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the city of Zachary, announces the return of Art Crawl.

The planning committee has crafted an intimate affair from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 22, along Virginia Street. Some of the historic homes will be opening their doors for the event. Engage with the artists, savor finger foods and sip on beverages. Lucille and the Smokers will perform from the gazebo, courtesy of the Regional Arts Council of Zachary.

Fish for Lent

A Lenten catfish plate sale, hosted on the St. John’s Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus Council 10080 and Zachary Mayor David McDavid, is planned for Friday, Feb. 16. Plates are $13. Lunch pickup begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Zachary City Hall parking lot. Local deliveries for orders of 10 or more can be made. Call or text (225) 247-2990.

Seeking Zachary alumni athletes

The Zachary High Athletics Department is seeking contact information for alumni. Visit to fill out contact information, year graduated and sports and clubs participated in. On Thursday, Facebook posts said 1,000 alumni have signed up. 

Istrouma 1974 grads to hold reunion

Istrouma High School class of 1974 will hold its 50th reunion from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. April 20 at Kristenwood, 14025 Greenwell Springs Road. Contact

Bunny Hop coming

The Zachary Rotary Club will host the Rotary Bunny Hop 2024 5K and 1-mile Fun Run on March 9. The 1-mile run and walk starts at 8 a.m., the 5K run and walk at 8:30 a.m. Visit to register.

Winter hours set for market

The Zachary Farmers and Artisans Market is now open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays for winter hours.

Learn about leadership

The 2024 session of Leadership North begins in April.

Participants get to exchange viewpoints and experiences and learn about business, government, and civic issues and opportunities and issues in the northern Baton Rouge region.

It is open to people living or working in the north Baton Rouge region and the communities of Baton Rouge, Zachary, Central and Baker, as well as the parishes of Pointe Coupee and East and West Feliciana. Participants must have the full support of the business or organization they represent.
