Catfish dinner on Fridays

A $12 catfish dinner for Lent will be held at 11 a.m. March 17 and 31 at the Zachary City Hall parking lot. Sponsored by the ETX55s Senior Softball Team, some proceeds will go to a fire and police memorial fund.

Shredding event

The Bank of Zachary is holding its annual Community Shred Day.

Bring personal documents that need to be destroyed to your chosen branch and they will be professionally shred on-site.

Zachary Market

Zachary Farmers and Artisans Market will offer photos with the Easter bunny on Saturday, March 18. The market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 60 vendors and food trucks will be on hand.

Color Fun Run set

The Zachary Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization’s Color Fun Run will be April 1. Warmup and stretch begin at 9:30 a.m. The race starts at 10 a.m. Visit zepto.membershiptoolkit.com/packet/28599082 for information. 

It starts at Rollins Place Elementary and heads toward Zachary Early Learning Center using both school carpool lanes. Registration will include a T-shirt, a pair of sunglasses and two bags of individual color powder.

Color Fun Run shirts are guaranteed if you register before noon March 17. Registrations can be made through March 24; however, you may get a plain white shirt in your race pack. 

Save the dates

Zachary High graduation is planned for 6:30 p.m. May 25 at Raising Cane’s River Center.

2023 Nursing Scholarship application period open

Lane Volunteer Services is accepting applications for the 2023 Nursing Scholarship award.

A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Louisiana high school student who plans to pursue a career in nursing and will be attending a Louisiana college, university or other credentialed nursing program.

The application deadline is March 24.
