BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A group of Baton Rouge Magnet High School students won third place in a national anatomy competition.
On Sunday, May 7, more than 100 students from across the U.S. competed in California’s National Anatomage Tournament. Five students from BRHMS scored third place and earned scholarships worth $750.
Thousands of students across the U.S. competed in regional tournaments hoping to win their way to Sunday’s national tournament. High schoolers teamed up into groups of three to five and competed in a series of rounds that increased in difficulty with each advancement. The students used cadavers from the Anatomage Table to correctly identify anatomical structures.
On Sunday, students from Arcadia High School (California) won first place, Durant High School (Oklahoma) students came in second place, and the fourth-place winners were Agoura High School (California).
All of the winners demonstrated their expertise in science and biology. Each of the four winning teams earned scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $500.
