BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge pizza restaurant on Government Street with an over 70-year history is being sold for $4.5 million.

Fleur de Lis Pizza closed suddenly in July, citing staffing shortages. The restaurant’s last Facebook post read, “We will be closed until further notice, due to the shortage of staff. Thank you so much to my few loyal staff and all my loyal customers.”

Since the announcement, the post received over 500 comments from Baton Rouge residents expressing their sadness over the closure and sharing their favorite memories of the restaurant.

According to the listing on the Louisiana Commercial Database website, the owner is searching for a “motivated entrepreneur, investor or pizza enthusiast” to continue the 1,813-square-foot restaurant’s legacy.

Fleur de Lis Pizza originally opened in 1946.
