PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD) – Summer is out, but the learning is still going at Iberville Charter Academy. The school hosted its inaugural Career Day.

This event gave kindergarten through 7th-grade students the opportunity to explore jobs and opportunities within and outside of their community.

Students also had the opportunity to learn about higher education and collegiate-level sports.

There were a number of hands-on activities from first responders, make-up artists, real estate agents, medical professionals, insurance agents, and journalists.

To make things fun, over 100 kids dressed up as who they aspire to be and took headshots. Over the next few weeks, the youth will learn what it means to build their resume.

At the end of the summer, the kids will showcase their skills.

Visit the Iberville Charter Academy website to learn more about the programs that they have to offer.
