Crews fighting wildfire in Livingston Parish

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — Fire crews are responding to a reported wildfire along Highway 63 on Monday evening.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, the fire is near Highway 63, north of Highway 444. Firefighters are on the scene.

Officials have shut down Highway 63 between Highway 42 and 444 and ask that drivers avoid the area.

The parish-wide burn ban is currently still in effect in Livingston Parish after being reinstated on Oct. 27.

The statewide burn ban is also still in effect with a few modifications, according to the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
