Former EBR Sheriff’s Office employee arrested for domestic abuse

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A former employee of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) was arrested on multiple domestic abuse-related charges Sunday (July 17).

According to EBRSO, a 27-year-old former dispatcher named Bria Hunt was taken into custody Sunday afternoon for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend.

Hunt worked as an EBRSO dispatcher for approximately three months and had not yet attended the training academy, authorities say. 

After EBRSO authorities responded to the incident involving Hunt, she was fired and booked on charges of domestic abuse battery, child endangerment, and aggravated assault.  

No further information related to the arrest has been provided.
