LAKE CHARLES, La. (BRPROUD) – McNeese State University announced former LSU men’s basketball head coach Will Wade will be the next coach for its men’s basketball team.
The announcement was made on Sunday but a formal introduction will be held at noon in the Legacy Center on Monday. According to McNeese, Wade is replacing John Aiken after two seasons as head coach of the Pokes.
Wade was LSU’s head coach for five years and led the Tigers to the Southeastern Conference regular season championship in 2019. In March 2022, Wade and LSU parted ways after the team was eliminated from the SEC tournament.
