Grand jury indicts St. Gabriel police officer charged with murder

ST. GABRIEL, La. (BRPROUD) — A St. Gabriel police officer accused of fatally shooting a Denham Springs man in March was indicted on second-degree murder by a grand jury on Tuesday.

Andre Redditt, 27, of St. Gabriel was arrested by Livingston Parish deputies on March 2 after allegedly killing Dylan Martin, 26 while off-duty. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said the men were estranged partners.

The shooting happened at an Arcwood Drive home in Denham Springs.

The St. Gabriel Police Department released a statement after his arrest, confirming Redditt was an officer and was placed on administrative leave as deputies investigate the shooting.

Redditt remains in jail on a $275,000 bond.
