BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Multiple people have been arrested for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession after a team-up between the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

Over the past several months, the police department’s Robbery Detectives have been investigating a series of armed robberies targeting ATM Technicians, which occurred between August 2023 and February 2024. Suspects were identified, leading to a collaboration between BRPD and EBRSO’s Narcotics/SCAT unit.

The joint effort began when EBRSO Narcotics/SCAT agents conducted a controlled purchase of crack cocaine from suspects. Shortly after, they received word that police were investigating another armed robbery involving an ATM technician.

EBRSO said the vehicle involved matched one previously identified in their investigations. Agents began surveillance on the suspects’ known distribution point in the 8500 block of Scenic Highway.

Agents observed the suspect vehicle arriving and leaving the location. EBRSO followed them and witnessed the suspects throwing items over the barrier wall on I-110 South near Harding Boulevard. While attempting to stop the vehicle, it was discovered to be stolen from Lake Charles.

The pursuit led to the suspects abandoning the vehicle and attempting to flee on foot. Despite their efforts, EBRSO agents successfully apprehended one suspect, while evidence tying them to the armed robberies was recovered from the scene on I-110.

Narcotics/SCAT agents, along with police and EBRSO patrol, surrounded the suspects’ hangout location on Scenic Highway.

EBRSO SWAT and BRPD SRT executed search warrants at identified apartments, leading to a seizure of illegal substances, firearms and money.

Among the items seized were:

  • 6.3 ounces of powder cocaine
  • 10.4 grams of crack cocaine
  • 7.78 pounds of marijuana
  • 90.5 dosage units of Oxycodone
  • 5 THC cartridges
  • 5.4 grams of THC wax
  • 1 dosage unit of Hydrocodone
  • 1 pint of Promethazine Syrup
  • Approximately $61,834 in currency (pending seizure)

A large number of firearms were collected by BRPD, including various rifles, handguns and bulletproof vests.

BRPD arrested Tremayne Lindsey, 22, Quendez Vancourt, 21, Brandon Fleming, 19, Christon Fields, 18, Cortez Hills, 20, and Toderick Woodridge, 43. Each faces charges related to armed robbery.

Lindsey, Vancourt and Fleming were also charged with criminal street gangs. All suspects, apart from Fleming, were charged with illegal possession of stolen things.

EBRSO arrests include Tyler Walker, 29, Antoine Parker, 22, and Jacolby Davenport, 24. Each faces charges ranging from drug trafficking to illegal firearm possession.

Parker was also charged with unlawful use of body armor.

EBRSO said more charges are pending. Agencies that assisted in the investigation include BRPD Armed Robbery, EBRSO Narcotics, SWAT teams, K-9 units and air support, along with federal agencies such as the DEA and ATF. Capital Region Crime Stoppers also played a role by providing tips, EBRSO said.
