BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — As people get ready to celebrate the Easter holiday with friends and family, there is a part of the community in need of blood.
“We need to get the blood back on the shelves. They have a lot of wrecks. They have a lot of accidents. They have a lot of surgeries that are going on. And we need to help our community by giving back some blood. And what better way to help save a life,” Life Share Blood Center Tech Supervisor Angela Smith said.
LifeShare Blood Center is saying “Thank you” by giving free turkey or ham vouchers to those who donate a pint of blood.
The vouchers can be used at grocery stores such as Walmart, Albertson’s and Rouses.
“We just want to help save a life. A pint of blood could save three lives. So please help,” Smith said.
To donate blood, LifeShare says you have to be at least 16 years old and drink plenty of fluids before donating.
