BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Attorney and Southern University graduate, Chiquita Hall-Jackson said she is a victim of racial mistreatment, inequity and sexism.

“I say the government is doing very little,” said Chiquita Hall-Jackson, Attorney and Founder of Blow the Whistle Law said.

Jackson started an organization, Blow the Whistle Law to help advocate for clients who have witnessed or experienced discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

“Put diversity and inclusion at the forefront of their mission, take the initiative to have conscious bias training, hire diverse candidates and let them be their authentic selves and let them have input on how the workplace and different projects should flow,” Jackson said.

Jackson also emphasized how important it is to protect yourself for legal purposes.

“You need to document the date, time, and location,” Jackson said.

“One of the ways to protect yourself is to know your handbook. Knowing your organizational policies and procedures, agreements policies, as well as knowing whether it’s a key complaint and seeking legal counsel and competent counsel,” said President of the Baton Rouge NAACP, Eugene Collins.

Jackson hopes to establish at least 10 law schools by 2033 and hopes to place a school in Baton Rouge to disrupt wrongdoing and prioritize diversity.
