BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Fleurty Girl, a New Orleans-based boutique shop, will open its ninth location in Baton Rouge.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, the store’s owner used a sense of humor when announcing the new location, “Sorry it took us 14 years to get here, we were stuck in Baton Rouge traffic.”

The new location is set to open a shop/salon this summer in the 3600 block of Government Street in Mid City. The search for a full-time manager and four part-time workers has already started.

The shop started in 2009 as an online store before the first brick-and-mortar location opened six months later, according to the Fleurty Girl website. Merchandise sold celebrates New Orleans and southern Louisiana culture through graphic tees, accessories and various gift items.
