Man arrested for using friend’s bank card, withdraws over $400

PAINCOURTVILLE, La (BRPROUD) — The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 60-year-old man after he took his friend’s bank card and allegedly made unauthorized ATM withdrawals.

According to officials, the victim said he took his friend, Charles Manuel Jones, to the ATM to withdraw funds and noticed that there were three unauthorized transactions on his account totaling $460.

After officials conducted an investigation, it was determined that Jones was responsible for the theft.

Jones was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center for unauthorized use of an access card.

He remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
