BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – One woman is dead and two other people are injured following an early morning shooting in Baton Rouge.

It happened just after four Wednesday morning at a home on Underwood Avenue near North Foster Drive.

Baton Rouge Police Chief Thomas Morse says it appears to be a domestic situation.

“It looks like it’s contained to this residence. Like I said, that the suspect was known to the people inside the residence was let in and some kind of domestic disturbance argument took place, which led up to the shooting. But it’s kind of early to say right now. Detectives are have a couple of people detain witnesses that were also here that were not transporting” said Chief Morse.

The name of the victim and the severity of the two injured are unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
