BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The owners of a popular Baton Rouge restaurant, Magpie Cafe, have decided to sell the business.

James and Lina Jacobs, founders and owners of Magpie Cafe, announced over the weekend the business was recently sold.

“Thank you Baton Rouge for supporting us and our unique cafe for 11 years. It has been a joy, honor, and privilege to serve you,” said the Facebook post. “It is bittersweet to announce that our time at Magpie now comes to a close, as does our time in Baton Rouge. However, we are excited to announce that the Magpie culture will continue under new ownership.”

Magpie Cafe is on Perkins and is known for its coffee and other menu offerings with local and seasonal ingredients. The Jacobs family expanded the business to the redeveloped Commerce Building in 2016.

The new owners reportedly have been customers of the cafe since its opening.
