Shots fired into Iberville Parish home, police say

ST. GABRIEL, La. (BRPROUD) – A home was reportedly struck by bullets in Iberville Parish on Monday, July 24.

Officers with the St. Gabriel Police Department arrived around 4:05 a.m. at home in the 1500 block of St. Francis Lane. Police said, “Residents at the above listed address reported hearing two gunshots that they believed struck their home.”

Two bullet holes were reportedly found by the residents. They were discovered “near the front of the home,” according to the St. Gabriel Police Department. Further investigation by officers found that those bullets had travelled inside the home. Police said one ended up in a wall of the home after hitting a bed and the second exited “through the floor of the residence.”

No one was hurt in this shooting. Police are asking residents in the area to check their surveillance cameras. At this time, there have been no arrests made in connection with this case.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the St. Gabriel Police Department at 225-642-5222.
