BAKER, La. (BRPROUD) — A workshop will be available for Baker youth this Saturday, March 18 that will introduce the science of chemistry and its importance in the Baton Rouge metro area economy.
Baton Rouge STEM is partnering with the City of Baker for this workshop. The organization hosts workshops at the Workforce Development Center in Baker.
“Individuals working in STEM professions helped to build a thriving City of Baker years ago. We
are committed to ensuring that the next generation can take advantage of these opportunities
and are prepared to utilize STEM-based learning to create an even brighter future for Baker,”
said Baker Mayor Darnell Waites earlier this year.
Saturday’s workshop will give students in grades K-12 the chance to learn about chemical reactions and how to apply them to real life, according to event organizers. Lunch will be provided to participants.
The event is set for March 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the center located at 3262 Baker Blvd.
