Teenager dies in crash, drivers in other vehicle flee the scene, Baton Rouge police say

A 14-year-old died Tuesday morning in a crash on North 22nd Street, and two people in a stolen pickup fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, Baton Rouge police said.

The crash happened about 9:45 a.m., as a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was northbound on North 22nd Street when it struck a southbound Nissan Versa sedan that was attempting to turn left onto Fuqua Avenue, according to police.

The teen, an occupant in the Versa, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants in the Versa were transported to a hospital, police said. 






Two people in a stolen 2012 pickup fled the scene of a fatal crash Tuesday before officers arrived.




The truck was reported stolen to the Zachary Police Department. An investigation is ongoing.
