Five-star basketball recruit transfers from Kentucky to LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A 2021 five-star basketball recruit announced he is transferring to Louisiana State University.

Former University of Kentucky Wildcats forward Daimion Collins announced on Twitter he is committed to the LSU Tigers.

The 6-foot, 9-inch forward attended Atlanta High School in Atlanta, Texas, according to ESPN, before he signed with the Wildcats in 2021 where he averaged almost three points per game, two rebounds, and almost eight minutes his freshman year. At the start of his sophomore year, Collins had similar statistics.

Before joining the Wildcats, Collins averaged 35 points a game, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks per game his senior year, according to MaxPreps. Collins was also named the 2020-2021 MaxPreps Texas High School Basketball Player of the Year.
