BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Joe Burrow Foundation lends a helping hand to several families by footing the bill for mental health treatment, the quarterback’s parents said.

The foundation, which was founded in October 2022, was formed by former LSU quarterback and current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and his parents, Jimmy and Robin. Help is given by the organization to the underprivileged in Baton Rouge and Cincinnati.

In an interview with The Mental Game Podcast, Jimmy and Robin revealed that the foundation helped 20 Cincinnati families by paying their mental health bills.

“The families had trouble paying the bills, so we started out thinking ‘Well, how many can we pay?’” Jimmy said. “There were about 20 of them and we couldn’t decide (who to help), so we basically paid for 20 families’ mental health bills.”

“It was overwhelming that the little bit that we felt like we could do with the foundation made such a huge impact for them,” Robin said. “They were at the point where they were going to lose their services because they were past due on bills.”

During his recent visit to Baton Rouge for the LSU football spring game, Joe helped raise $1 million for area nonprofits.
