BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — This national championship win is lucky No. 7 for the Louisiana State University Tigers. The baseball team beat the University of Florida Gators (18-4) on Monday, June 26 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
And Louisiana leaders and celebrities are celebrating the accomplishment and congratulating the team on social media.
According to the LSU Baseball Department, LSU games in the College World Series, particularly against Wake Forest, were some of the most-watched college or pro baseball games on ESPN. Both games against the Demon Deacons drew more than 2 million viewers.
