LSU baseball wins first game over Florida Gators, 4-3

OMAHA, NEB. (BRPROUD) — The LSU Baseball team defeated Florida, 4-3 on Saturday, June 24 as part of the College World Series.

The Tigers beat the Gators in the first game in Omaha with two extra innings.

According to ESPN, Junior pitcher Ty Floyd started the game and finished the game with 17 strikeouts and allowed three runs. Floyd breaks the LSU College World Series record for most strikeouts, according to LSU Baseball.

Tommy White, Gavin Dugas, and Cade Beloso are credited with home runs. Dylan Crews scored on a run.

The Tigers are expected to play the Florida Gators at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 25 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
