ATLANTA (BRPROUD) – The Southern University baseball team’s time in the SWAC tournament is over.
The Jaguars lost to Bethune-Cookman 10-6 in the double-elimination game Friday afternoon in Atlanta.
Southern was leading Bethune-Cookman 5-3 in the 7th inning, but the Wildcats would score 10 runs over the next three innings to gain the victory.
The Jaguars finished the season 23-28 and failed to make it back to the SWAC tournament championship game.
Southern entered the tournament as the 3rd seed and did defeat Bethune-Cookman in the first game of the tournament. Southern fell to rival Grambling on Thursday in a game that saw the Jaguars commit four errors.
