There are no leaks from a train that derailed in a train yard on La. 1 at the Anchorage overpass in Port Allen on Wednesday morning, officials said.

The state Department of Environmental Quality did a drone flyover of the site to help confirm there are no leaks, a spokesperson said.

Air monitoring there is also being conducted, said Jean Kelly, public information officer with the DEQ.

No injuries have been reported.

Twenty-five cars of a Union Pacific train went off the track, with the locomotive and one of the cars remaining on the track, Kelly said.

Equipment is on the scene for righting the train cars, she said.

The incident is being handled by the State Police Hazardous Materials Unit, said  Cpl. Landon Groger of the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

This is a developing story.
