Gabriel LXXXIV Wayne Elmore and Evangeline LXXXIV Ani Domingue reigned over the grand ball of the Greater Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association on Mardi Gras evening, Feb. 21.
The queen is the daughter of Scott and Crystal Domingue.
The celebration took place at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette, where the stage depicted an interior palace ballroom scene. This provided the backdrop as members of the royal court took their bows.Â
The ball opened with the presentation of the association’s crest. The entrance of King Gabriel was followed by that of Queen Evangeline, who was escorted by Frank Gerami III, the association’s president.
Rick Chappuis and John Michael Chachere served as royal honor dukes to Gabriel LXXXIV.
Royal dukes serving the king were Brett Broussard, Tom Hebert, Andy Schwartzenburg, Allen Stuart, Greg Bonin, John Michael Chachere, Lenny Lemoine, Will Luke and Joe Savoie.
Presented as maids of honor to the queen were Cecile Chappuis, daughter of Rick and Shana Chappuis; and Madeline Breaux, daughter of Jason Breaux and Emmy LaDousa Breaux.
The queen’s maids were Caroline Ayers, daughter of Kevin and Ramsey Ayers; Claire Broussard, daughter of Brett and Bethany Broussard; Emily Geoffroy, daughter of Greg and Elaine Geoffroy; Avery Hebert, daughter of Tom and Kim Hebert; Molly Miller, daughter of Mark and Michelle Miller; Virginia Rader, daughter of Chris and Jennie Rader; Rachel Caroline Schwartzenburg, daughter of Andy and Penn Schwartzenburg; and Hailey Stuart, daughter of Allen and Hydi Stuart.
Pages to King Gabriel LXXXIV were William Elliott IV, son of Bill and Joyce Elliott; and Luca Pugliese, son of Craig and Jennifer Pugliese. Pages to Queen Evangeline LXXXIV were Colin Folse, son of Jenny and Trent Folse; and Louis Soileau, son of Jayne and Felix Soileau.
When members of the court were assembled following the grand march, Gabriel LXXXII Dr. James Carol Bienvenu, Evangeline LXXXII Olivia Fox Pharr and Evangeline LXXXIII Meghan Estelle Colomb were presented.
