Volunteers needed for State Capitol Bible Reading Marathon

Proposed bill to lower age of criminal responsibility in Louisiana advances

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana State Capitol Bible Reading Marathon is scheduled to take place at the Louisiana State Capitol Building later this month.

The event is happening on the south steps from Saturday, March 16th through Wednesday, March 20.

The marathon is a 90-hour event and volunteers are needed. There will be 360 reading spots for volunteers. Each reading will take place in 15-minute increments.

Anyone can sign up to read during the marathon. It does not matter how old you are or what language you speak. You can signup to read here.

The marathon starts with an opening ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. Organizers said it will end with a closing ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
