Modesto, 3930 Burbank Drive, Baton Rouge, has a seasonal frozen drink on the menu: the El Huracán is made with white rum, gold rum, fassionola and lime juice. Fassionola is the original hurricane syrup from Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans, made with strawberries, blueberries, papaya, mango, pineapple juice, sugar, hibiscus flowers, passionfruit puree and two secret ingredients. 






There’s a new menu item to try at Fork N Spoon, 1750 Brightside Drive, Baton Rouge. The “Crack Browns” feature chopped hash browns, melted cheese, bacon, jalapeños, sour cream and green onions.

The River Room, 222 Laurel St., Baton Rouge, launched a spring cocktail menu, which includes a “Figgy Stardust” drink that includes Reosado tequila, fig preserves, sriracha honey syrup and lemon and orange bitters. They’ve also added an old-fashioned, side car and more specialty and classic cocktails, plus two nonalcoholic drinks.

Back yard bash: 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Curbside Burgers, 4158 Government St., Baton Rouge 

Curbside is officially unveiling the newly renovated backyard with live music from BR Music Studios, beer tastings and exclusive merchandise. The new space features a pergola system, multiple televisions, an updated sound system, outdoor fans and sunshades. 

Sunday brunch at Le Chien: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Le Chien Brewing Company, 101 S. Hummel St., Denham Springs

Chef Grant Arnold will host brunch every second and third Sunday of the month with bottomless mimosas, a buffet and live music from Dustin Lee Geudry. Tickets for the brunch buffet are $28, $40 for bottomless mimosas or bloody marys or $15 for a kid’s buffet, available for purchase by emailing kimberly@lechien.beer.

Yoga at the market: 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, 2398 Irene Blvd., Baton Rouge 

Enjoy free yoga for all ages at the Red Stick Farmers Market with Tami Ringe in the grassy area next to the market. Mats and towels are encouraged but not required. After class, explore and shop at the market.

Stoller Estate wine dinner: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at The Little Village Airline, 14241 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge

Melissa Burr, chief winemaker of Stoller Family Estates, will be in attendance to showcase various wines, paired with a coursed menu from chef Justin McVey. Tickets are $150 per person, available by contacting the restaurant at (225) 751-4115. Dinner will start promptly at 7 p.m.

Son of a Butcher wine maker dinner: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at City Pork Jefferson, 7327 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge

Join Son of a Butcher wine maker Yannick Rousseau and Hilary Hanif of Neat Wines on a culinary journey as the chef Bret Baron at City Pork pairs fine wines with a specially curated 5-course menu. A sommelier will guide participants through each tasting, offering insights into the unique characteristics of each wine and its complement on the plate. The menu includes dishes like smoked duck l’orange, mini beef Wellington and more.

Tickets are $100 per person, available for purchase at sevenrooms.com.
