19-year-old shot in parked car dies days later, Baton Rouge police say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a Sunday, March 5 shooting that left one dead.

According to the police, Treyvon Nelson, 19, was shot around 11:30 p.m. on Sherwood Meadow Drive. Nelson and two others were sitting in a parked car at an apartment complex when unknown suspects allegedly started shooting.

BRPD said Nelson was taken to a local hospital but died of his injuries on Friday. Detectives do not know the motive or suspects at this time.
