BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A weekslong investigation ended with the arrest of Amber Rose Johnson, 26. The investigation centered around a possible “fentanyl and heroin trafficking operation,” according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. EBRSO believed that Johnson was leading this operation. Johnson reportedly sold fentanyl to agents.
Agents were able to narrow down four locations that they believed were “being used by Johnson and other co-conspirators,” according to EBRSO. Those locations were on Essen Lane, North 29th Street, North Ardenwood Drive and Airline Highway.
A search of those locations on Thursday, May 25 led to the seizure of:
- 1 pound of fentanyl (4,480 lethal doses)
- 2.2 pounds of heroin
- 1 ounce of cocaine
- 7 grams marijuana
- Hydraulic kilo press (used to repress fentanyl/heroin after it is mixed and cut)
- Numerous scales, bags of cutting agents and respirator masks
- Glock handgun (.40 Cal)
- Springfield handgun (9mm)

Johnson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday, May 25 and charged with:
- distribution of Schedule II fentanyl (3 counts)
- possession with intent to distribute Schedule II (fentanyl)
- possession with intent to distribute Schedule I (heroin)
- possession with intent to distribute Schedule II (cocaine)
- possession of drug paraphernalia
- operation of a clandestine lab (fentanyl)
- possession of a firearm with drugs (2 counts)
As of the publishing of this article, bond has not yet been set for Johnson.
EBRSO SCAT, EBRSO K9 (Patrol and Interdiction) and DEA Task Force participated in this investigation. The investigation remains open.
