Bundt cake sale

Thursday is the last day to order a Bundt cake from the Community Sisterhood.

The Nothing Bundt Cake fundraiser is selling vanilla, chocolate-chocolate chip, red velvet and lemon cakes for delivery on March 25. To order, visit https://tinyurl.com/communitysisterhood.

Mardi Gras krewe accepting applications for scholarship

Krewe of Ascension Mambo is accepting applications for its scholarship program for Ascension Parish high school seniors.

To apply, students should request an application from the school’s career coach or retrieve one from the school’s senior Google documents. The Arc collecting beads

Hayride Publisher and author, McKay, to address Roundtable

Scott McKay, author and publisher of the internet political newspaper The Hayride, will be the featured speaker at the March Ascension GOP Roundtable, sponsored by Ascension Republican Women. The roundtable starts at 11:30 Thursday at the Clarion Inn, 1500 W. La. 30 in Gonzales.

Mattress sale planned

East Ascension High School is holding its annual mattress sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the school’s cafeteria. 

The sales is a schoolwide fundraiser that offers name brand mattresses at a 30% to 60% discount.

Sizes include toddler, camper, twin, double, queen, king and California king.

Drop-off recycling

Residents can drop off their recycling at the Recycling Center at the Department of Public Works headquarters, 42077 Churchpoint Road, in Gonzales. Operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
