Baton Rouge attraction set to open after Memorial Day

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — One of Baton Rouge’s most popular attractions is set to open after Memorial Day.

According to the website, Blue Bayou Waterpark is set to open for the 2023 season at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30.

The attraction is divided into two parts. Blue Bayou, is a waterpark with 13 water rides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. Dixie Landin’ is an amusement park with 25 rides including a train ride through the park.

The website notes that some attractions may be modified, have limited capacity, and are subject to availability.

Admissions for guests 48 inches in height or taller is $49.99. Admission for guests between 36 inches and 48 inches in height or ages 60 or older is $39.99. Guests under 36 inches in height are allowed into the park for free.

All-day parking is available for $5 per vehicle.

The park is located at 18142 Perkins Road and will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. through Tuesday, Aug. 8.
