BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Baton Rouge man is going to spend 20 years behind bars after a sentence was handed down for receipt of child pornography.
Jesse J. Allen, 35, of Baton Rouge will also have to pay $51,000 in restitution, register as a sex offender for life, finish sex offender treatment and serve 10 years of federal supervised release after his prison term, according to the United States Department of Justice.
As part of his sentence, Allen will also not be allowed to be around anyone under the age of 18 during the supervised release. The conviction and sentence came after an investigation by the Louisiana State Police and FBI.
Allen admitted to searching for and getting child pornography from victims via the internet and cell phones.
United States Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr. said, “Protecting our children and prosecuting those who exploit them continues to be a priority for my office. Searching for and obtaining images of child pornography feeds the demand for child exploitation and re-victimizes those children who suffered through the abuse. If basic human decency will not deter this conduct, we hope that severe prison sentences will.”
