BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after a man was reportedly found dead in the 6000 block of Villa Ashley Drive on Friday morning.

EMS confirmed that a call came in around 6:45 a.m. on Friday, May 19.

BRPD confirmed that they are investigating shots reportedly fired in the area. At this time, BRPD said that are not able to confirm whether the shooting took place at the location in the 6000 block of Villa Ashley Drive.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office was observed at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
