GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — A boil water advisory was placed for all Gonzales water customers after a temporary loss of water pressure, according to city officials.

City leaders said testing is underway and results from the Louisiana Department of Health should be returned in the next 48 hours.

To properly boil water, LDH said to fill a pot with water, heat until bubbles come quickly from the bottom to the top and keep heating the water for one more minute before turning off the heat and letting it cool.

Gonzales leaders will issue a statement confirming when the advisory has been lifted.
