BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Summer is around the corner, and many parents may be looking for camps for their children.

East Baton Rouge Schools will offer several options, including some camps that will be free.

Sean Joffrion, director of Fine Arts for EBR Schools, said one camp does not require students to be enrolled in the school district. Any student can sign-up as long as the student lives in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Educators state that art plays a huge role in a child’s life and encourages fine motor skills, neural development, and problem-solving abilities. Students can see improvements in other subjects as well, such as reading, writing, math, and science, by simply being able to express themselves.
