EBRSO chase puts elementary school on temporary lockdown Tuesday

BATON ROUGE, LA. (BRPROUD) – According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, deputies pursued a man in a stolen vehicle along O’Neal Lane on Tuesday afternoon. This triggered a temporary lockdown at an elementary school.

It was shortly after noon when deputies say a man was seen in a stolen vehicle in the 2100 block of O’Neal Lane. The man reportedly jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood, where he jumped a fence on Elkwood Drive.

EBRSO confirmed that during the pursuit, Wedgewood Elementary was placed on temporary lockdown.
