BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Firefighters in Baton Rouge stepped in to rescue a dog named Belle Sunday afternoon.

According to St. George Fire Department, first responders with Engine 613 were called to a neighborhood off Perkins Road where they found Belle trapped under a slab of concrete at a residence on Chalmette Avenue.

Firefighters say the pup chased something under the concrete and couldn’t get back out. So, the first responders called for backup from Ladder 618 and worked together to relocate a few of the pieces of concrete. At that point, the firefighters were able to get Belle out.

She may not have been able to catch whatever she was chasing, but officials say she was happy to be free and uninjured.
