Hurricane Ida temporary housing program to end in May

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Families living in homes supplied by the Ida Sheltering Program need to find another form of shelter because the program is closing.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness announced Thursday that the program will end on May 31. Anyone living in FEMA’s Manufactured Housing Units is not affected, according to GOSHEP.

Help is available for those who need help finding temporary or permanent housing. The office said families should stay connected with Ida Sheltering Program staff on their move. Staff can be reached at 844-268-0301.
