Jambalaya cook-off competition returns to Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Clash of the Cooks Jambalaya Showdown returns to the capital area this weekend.

The 2023 Clash of the Cooks Jambalaya Showdown is a cooking competition and jambalaya-tasting event that will be held at the Ochsner Medical Complex, 10310 The Grove Boulevard, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.

Clash of the Cooks began in 2017 and features cooking teams of professionals and “average joes” serving up multiple jambalaya recipes while raising money for local families with cancer. In the past, the event raised over $90,000 for 16 local recipients to help with their medical expenses.

Awards and prizes will be given by celebrity judges such as Talk 107.3’s local radio host Brian Haldane and the owner of Zee Zee’s and Chow Yum Phat, Jordan Ramirez.

Tickets are only $15 which includes unlimited tasting portions while supplies last. A package ticket option is also available for $30, which includes unlimited jambalaya and four beers. Children age 10 years old and under eat for free.
