Livingston police warn of scam after lieutenant’s email address hacked

LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) – If you get an email from the Town of Livingston Police Department, do not open it. The police department says a lieutenant’s email address was hacked.

The Town of Livingston Police Department identified the hacked email address as BHerring@townoflivingston.com.

The suspected hacker is sending invoices from the email to agencies and individuals demanding payment, according to the Town of Livingston Police Department.

The investigation into this hack remains ongoing. Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to call 225-686-7153.
