BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Nothing is more enjoyable than a hot summer day in Louisiana, especially after rainy, chilly days. With summer swiftly approaching, those record-hot temperatures call for something to keep you cool.

While hot weather is amazing, keeping yourself cool to avoid dehydration or heat strokes can be very important. Baton Rouge has many options that are family-friendly. Waterparks, splash pads, swimming pools and snowballs are great sources of refreshment.

So, to keep you safe and most importantly, to keep it fun, we’ve created a list of ways to cool your body down during these scorching months.

Splash Pads

BREC splash pads and park hours in the Baton Rouge area are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Swimming Pools

BREC swimming pools open on May 27 and close on July 30. These pools are free to use.
