BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A new and colorful exhibit sits at the Louisiana State Archives titled “Woven Narratives.”

The exhibit showcases the work of world-renowned textile designer Dana Chapital, who is from Louisiana.

“I’m inspired by a lot of historical stories, especially Black and Native American stories. I like to weave that into my works,” Chapital said.

The display is also part of the nonprofit Cultural Crossroads celebration of its eighth annual archives program. The group is dedicated to presenting programs of artistic expression by people of African descent while exposing those incredible connections to the Black-diaspora world.

Louisiana State Archives is located at 3851 Essen Lane in Baton Rouge.
