GEISMAR, La. (BRPROUD) – Justin Reid, safety for the Kansas City Chiefs who won the NFL Superbowl, returns home to Geismar on March 18.

The City of Geismar will have a parade and a ceremony at the Dutchtown Griffin Football Stadium at 9:30 a.m. Reid will be on a firetruck with his family to greet the community.

“I understand the opportunities afforded to me from working hard on the field and the impact it can have off the field. I am blessed to have a family and community that wants to celebrate me. When my dad came up with the idea and called me, I was excited and at the same time in disbelief. I have never had a parade, just to celebrate me, this is very humbling. I am forever grateful to Ascension Parish, my home,” Reid said.

Reid played football at Dutchtwon High School and attended Standford University before entering the NFL draft in 2018. Reid won the Superbowl with the Chiefs and has only been on the team for a year.

The parade will start at Alexander’s Harvest Market on Highway 73 and end at the Dutchtown High School gate on Heroman Rd.
