BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – This year marks the 51st anniversary of the first Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival. Louisiana’s largest free harvest festival will be from Friday, April 14-16 in Ponchatoula.
Since 1972, the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival has attracted visitors from near and far to celebrate local strawberry farmers, nonprofits and the community, making it the largest free harvest festival in the state of Louisiana.
Festival organizers said the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is proud to bring The Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit to Louisiana for the first time. This high-tech exhibit will sit among local Veteran booths, representatives from our country’s Military Forces and the “Spirit of Louisiana” Fire Truck.
It’s an 83-foot tractor-trailer that transforms into an 11-hundred-square-foot exhibit in tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11. Firefighters who were at ground zero will be the ones giving the tours, according to the festival.
