Port Allen man accused of involvement in overdose death, charged with principal to murder

PORT ALLEN, La. (BRPROUD) — The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested a 32-year-old man for his alleged connection to an overdose death.

According to the WBRSO, deputies responded to a trailer park community on Lafiton Lane in Port Allen on Wednesday, April 12. Upon arrival, deputies found Samuel Moore, 30, of Port Allen, unresponsive due to a drug overdose. Moore later died as a result of the overdose.

Sheriff Mike Cazes said detectives were able to develop and corroborate information about Russell Daigle’s involvement in Moore’s death.

Daigle has been arrested and charged with principal to second-degree murder. The bond has been set at $900,000, according to the WBRSO.

This is an ongoing investigation.
