DESTIN, Fla. — Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey said Wednesday there is desire among conference members to find new ways to curb fans storming the field or court after a victory, but that no consensus has yet been reached.

Sankey did downplay the possibility of one proposal that a school could forfeit a home game if its fans breach the playing surface.

“We’ve had a working group look at the issue,” Sankey said during a news conference at the SEC Spring Meeting at the Sandestin Hilton. “The momentum is to not stay still. But more aggressive ideas are not the focus.”

Currently, SEC schools are fined up to $250,000 per field or court storming incident. LSU was fined twice last season after fans stormed the field in Tiger Stadium following victories over Ole Miss and Alabama.
